Do you think separate food waste collections will be a success?

I would be interested to know what foods they will pick up because my council already picks up a brown food bin which takes some food – egg shells, vegetable scraps and tea bags. So how will this scheme be any different? I am interested to know whether they will take all food waste or just some.
Sandra Booth, East Anglia

What a great idea. I already compost my own food waste, but my neighbours don’t. When I got my compost bin they thought I was mad. They really believed it was a hassle, but it’s so easy. I didn’t think they would ever take the initiative to get their own, but a food waste collection service will hopefully mean they can compost without any hassle.

What about plastics and cardboard? They’re the bulk of my rubbish and my council don’t recycle them!

I just hope people stick to it!
